Domain
Memory Motel is named after a song by The Rolling Stones, the world's greatest band, and has been home to Danae Cassandra since January of 2005. I decided on the name because I wanted my domain to have the word memory in it, and I am an enormous Rolling Stones fan (like you couldn't tell).
I got my domain through Dreamhost, and would recommend them to anyone.
History
I have had an presence on the web since sometime in 1995, when I first put up a very amateur Sailor Moon fansite which later morphed into my Feminist Critique of Animation. For many years my collection of sites were simply called Danae's Portfolio, and were hosted first on my student account at the University of Louisville (which was hard to work with), then at various freeservers (Geocities, FortuneCity, Angelfire, and Tripod - all of which I got sick of the popups with), and finally on the account I got with my cable modem at Insight Broadband (which I outgrew).
Creation
As you can see, I didn't make the main layout - that is from Aun Existe Amor, which you can visit via the link at the bottom. I am currently working on making my own layout for my domain, I just don't like anything I've created yet.
What I do lay claim to is all the content of this domain. I may use premade layouts (though I have made the layouts for many of my fanlistings, and commissioned most of the others), but everything I have used from others is fully credited - so unless otherwise noted, I am the author of everything here.
