Animated Harem

These are the characters from anime, cartoons, comic books and video games that I find attractive in one way or another.  I found that I have a certain 'type' after I put all this together, but you can figure out what the heck this all says about me.  These lovely folks are basically in order.  There are two other parts to this harem - live action characters and literary characters, which you can visit if you want.

This part of my site is inspired by the wonderful site of Animated Lust (rated PG!).  You ought to go visit.

The Harem

Cobra Commander
from the various incarnations of G. I. Joe

Cobra Commander is a terrorist with plans of world domination.  He's the main villain in G. I. Joe.

I adore Cobra Commander.  In the cartoon it was his voice, and as a character it's the ambition & the attitude.  The latest comics from Devil's Due are the best. The pic is taken from the cover of Cobra Reborn.  He can come and conquer my world any time.

Jackie Estacado
from The Darkness

Jackie is a mafia hitman with an ancient, mystical, virtually unlimited power that takes more than a little toll on his soul.

Jackie's an anti-hero badass who oozes sex appeal.  He's a tortured soul torn between a good heart and a power that pulls him toward evil.  Yeah, he kills people, often brutally, but he's a gentleman with Sara and goes to any length for Jenny.  Damn, angst is sexy.

Count D
from Pet Shop of Horrors

Count D is the mysterious manager of a pet shop in Chinatown.

D may look fragile and effeminate, but he's probably the strongest person here.  He's absolutely beautiful, very androgynous, and also highly intelligent, smooth, elegant, and in control at all times.  Not to mention a tad amoral, as he knows perfectly well what can happen when dreams become reality.

Lara Croft
from Tomb Raider

Lara Croft is an explorer, archaeologist and adventurer, ready to take on the world and anyone who stands in her way.

Lara is hot.  Plus she's exceedingly capable, skilled, tough as nails, and she'll take on anything just like any male hero.  She's got the freedom to go anywhere and the ability to do anything.  I wanna be Lara Croft when I grow up.

Lady Death/Hope
from Lady Death

Depending on the version, Hope is either a young woman who challenges Satan for control of Hell or a half-Eldrich woman fighting for humanity.

I love heroines from so-called 'bad girl' comics.  They're sexy and they can kick any man's ass.  Beyond that, Hope is a contradiction - an anti-hero with a pure soul with a strong set of morals.

Kira Sakuya
from Tenshi Kinyoku (Angel Sanctuary)

Kira is the close friend of Setsuna.  Their past lives are deeply intertwined, bringing out Kira's protective nature toward Setsuna.

Kira's another anti-hero. What's so fascinating about him to me is that he appears to be such an unemotional bad-ass, but the reality is that he cares very deeply about his father and about Setsuna.  There's more going on of course - he's a complex character.

Sara Pezzini
from Witchblade

Sara is a NYPD detective who is chosen by The Witchblade, an ancient mystical artifact of indescribable power.

Again, Sara is hot.  She's also a very strong character, there's so much to her.  She's dedicated to her city and to her job, she can kick your ass, she doesn't use her powers for personal gain and that scene with her and Jackie and the whip in the 2nd crossover ...yum.

Hinomura Yo/Om Thai Yeung
from Crying Freeman

Yo is a Japanese potter who becomes an assassin and later leader of the 108 Dragons.

Freeman is loved by women.  Why?   Well, he's beautiful, powerful and oozes sex appeal, but the reality is he accords women rank due their skill, he doesn't underestimate them, and he treats them with respect and dignity. What woman doesn't want that?

Touga Kiryuu
from Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena)

In the series Touga is the president of the student council at Ohtori Academy; in the movie he is a man holding a dark secret.

Touga is an absolutely gorgeous bishounen.  In the film he's a mysterious romantic, in the anime and manga an excellent sword fighter, courageous, manipulative, suave, brazenly narcissistic playboy willing to try anything.  He's another complex character.

Alucard
from Hellsing

Alucard is the vampire agent of the Hellsing Organization.  He works with them to eradicate supernatural threats to Britain.

Crazy, creepy, cool, Alucard is an all-around bad-ass, appropriate since it's implied that he actually is Dracula.  He's vain and arrogant, with the skills to back it up.  He's dignified, proud, manipulative and playing for his own agenda - an anti-hero all the way through.

Kagetsuya
from Earthian

Kagetsuya is a negative investigator from Heaven, an angel sent to judge mankind along with his partner Chihaya.

Kagetsuya is beautiful, intelligent and confident, calm and cool in the face of a crisis.  He's always willing to protect and defend Chihaya, and for his love of Chihaya he willingly accepts exile as a criminal.

Inuzaka Keno
from The Hakkenden: The Legend of the Dog Warriors

Keno is the dog warrior who represents the virtue of wisdom.  In his quest for revenge he travels as a female dancer, Asakeno.

Keno is beautiful and graceful, with a fighting style that relies on speed, dexterity and acrobatics.  He's also emotionally distant and a fine strategist, suiting his function as an agent of vengeance.  The combination makes him very androgynous and quite sexy.

Mephisto
from Demon City Shinjuku

Mephisto is a mysterious inhabitant of Shinjuku who helps the heroes along in the quest in Demon City Shinjuku.

You really don't learn a lot about him, he's cool and mysterious, and the most intriguing character in the film.  He also makes mincemeat of demons and he has the best line in the film, where he talks about terror and misery as familiar and safe to men.

Vincent Valentine
from Final Fantasy VII

Vincent is one of the secret characters from FF7.  He's a former Turk with a troubled past that brings him to ally with Cloud.

Vincent's cool, brooding, mysterious and aloof.  And romantic.  Not to mention gorgeous.  And a vampire.  And totally devoted to the memory of the woman he loved.  Not to mention that he has the coolest overdrive.  What more could a girl ask for?

Hojo Akira
from Sanctuary

Hojo is the leader of the yakuza Sagara Alliance and strives to change Japan's political system with his best friend Asami Chiaki.

Hojo is ruthless and idealistic, brilliant, capable, seemingly in control at all times.  He will go to any lengths to make his dream for Japan come true.  Hojo also has a vulnerable side that peeks through in his deep feelings for his friend Asami.

Nostalgia

These are folks that I had crushes on 'back in the day.'  I felt the need to include them, even if just for nostalgia's sake.

Starscream
from Transformers

The second-in-command and air commander of the Decepticons.  He was also briefly the leader of the Decepticons.

Starscream was originally a scientist.  He was intelligent, devious, rebellious, with a snide, mocking attitude toward his fellow Decepticons.  I loved his voice (the same actor voiced Cobra Commander).  I hate the bit in the movie where he dies.  :(

Rath
from Mummies Alive!

Rath was the intellectual member of the team on Mummies Alive!  He was a sorcerer and his animal was the snake.

Mummies Alive! was a silly cartoon but it was fun.  Had a real 80's feel, even if it was from the 90's.  What I liked about Rath was his intelligence.  Beyond that, I'm not sure - I don't normally go for a heroic type. I'm much more an anti-hero kind of gal.

Galvatron
from Transformers

The 'reincarnation' of Megatron, Galvatron was the leader of the Decepticons after the events of Transformers: The Movie.

Sure, Galvatron was an mentally unbalanced megalomaniac.  Okay, he was downright insane and homicidal.  But I liked him a lot more than the original Megatron.  I'm not sure exactly why.  Maybe it was Leonard Nimoy voicing him in the movie...

Eric Raymond
from Jem and the Holograms

Eric Raymond was the unscrupulous manager of The Misfits.  As a businessman he constantly tried to undermine The Holograms.

I'm not sure what it was I found so attractive about Eric Raymond.  He's not a character you're supposed to like.  Sometime I'll sit down and watch Jem on DVD and hopefully I'll figure it out, but until then it's a mystery of my preadolescent years.

Jayce
from Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors

Jayce was the hero of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.  He spent the series searching for his father and fighting Sawboss.

Again, it's been so many years since I saw this cartoon (it aired in '84 or '85) that I've got no clue what it was about him.  I don't normally go for the hero, as I'm sure you can tell by now.  Maybe it was the hair.  I remember liking his hair a lot.

Tommy
from Tranzor Z

Tommy was the hero of Tranzor Z.  He piloted a giant robot build by his father and fought against evil scientists.

Again, I haven't seen this show since 1984.  It was my favorite show at the time (at least till Star Trek) and I had a big crush on Tommy.  Maybe it was the helmet and the giant robot.  I still think the helmet is cool and who doesn't want a giant robot?
