Live-Action Harem

These are the characters from live-action television & movies, along with real life rock stars that I find attractive in one way or another.  I found that I have a certain 'type' after I put all this together, but you can figure out what the heck this all says about me.  These lovely folks are basically in order.  There are two other parts of the harem - animated characters and literary characters, which you can visit if you want.

This part of my site is inspired by the wonderful site of Animated Lust (rated PG!).  You ought to go visit.

The Harem

Dr. Leonard McCoy
as portrayed by DeForest Kelley from Star Trek

Bones, of course, is the chief medical officer aboard the original starship Enterprise.

I became a Trekkie in '84 after a 15-hour marathon.  I've always adored McCoy.  Bones has a sharp tongue and a heart of gold.  Those blue eyes ... that smile ... that caustic sense of humor ... that bedside manner ... Bedside manner?  mmmmm

Lex Luthor
as portrayed by Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville

Lex is the sometimes misguided but often well-meaning billionaire of Smallville who is torn between darkness and light.

That struggle is more compelling because we know the ending.  Lex is intelligent, conflicted, at times manipulative and controlling, but right now he's an anti-hero, not a villain, and you want Clark to save him - and the bittersweet quality is that you know he doesn't.

Q
as portrayed by John DeLancey from Star Trek: The Next Generation

Q is the energy being who shows up at various times to challenge Jean-Luc Picard.

Let's see ... Q is omnipotent, omniscient and immortal.  Q has style, panache, and he dominates the scene whenever he's in it.  Sigh.  What wouldn't make a girl happy?  Yeah, he's arrogant, but he's has reason to be.  Besides, his arrogance is part of his charm.

Keith Richards
rock star

Keith, of course, is the rhythm guitarist and resident bad boy of The Rolling Stones.

Keith has so much attitude and genuine cool that it's impossible to describe.  That's not to mention he's a phenomenal guitar player.  Like his partner Mick, Keith just gets better with age, sort of like a fine whiskey (a comparison I'm sure Keith himself might appreciate.)

Mick Jagger
rock star

Mick Jagger, of course, is the lead singer for The Rolling Stones.

Mick is the epitome of the sexy rock star, and he just gets sexier with each passing year.  I think he looks better, moves better, and sings better today than ever before.  Mick's the first rock star I thought was sexy. The Stones are the greatest rock 'n roll band in the world, and no competition is even close.

Elim Garak
as portrayed by Andrew Robinson from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Garak is the station's resident Cardassian, the tailor, ex-Obsidian Order spy, exile, and all-around interesting individual.

Garak is mysterious, pragmatic, morally ambiguous, and easily the most intelligent resident of the station. He'd definitely Deep Space Nine's anti-hero.  He also looks damn good next to Bashir.  They are definitely my favorite pairing from the show.

Boromir
as portrayed by Sean Bean from The Lord of the Rings

Boromir is the Captain of the White Tower, the eldest son and heir of Denethor, the Steward of Gondor.

He is also the most human and fallible of the Fellowship.  Boromir doesn't fit with my normal type, and he never stood out for me in the book, but Sean Bean's portrayal of him was damn hot.  Not to mention the portrayal folks give him in fanfic ...

Gul Dukat
as portrayed by Mark Alaimo from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Dukat is the former Prefect of Bajor.  He was the major villain of Deep Space Nine.

DS9's writers screwed over Dukat's character.  Dukat is intelligent, manipulative and morally ambiguous, (lovely Cardassian qualities),  but before season 6 he leans toward anti-hero.  It could have been different, as we saw in "Indiscretion" & "Return to Grace."

David Bowie
rock star

David has occupied a variety of roles throughout the history of rock, constantly reinventing himself and making music different from what he has made before.

He is one fine looking man.  Yum.  Also, his willingness to experiment, to try something different and new is very attractive.  Plus his androgyny is quite sexy.

Jareth
as portrayed by David Bowie in Labyrinth

Jareth is the Goblin King, the 'villain' in Labyrinth who steals away Sarah's brother.

Jareth is also mysterious, has gorgeous hair and really knows how to dress.  Plus he's the king of his own realm and has awesome magical powers.  And he's played by David Bowie!  Boy, was Sarah a fool to turn him down for mundane reality and a baby brother.

Imhotep
as portayed by Arnold Vosloo from The Mummy & it's sequel

Imhotep is the villain in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, the evil priest who was entombed in living death for his crimes.

I don't see his character as a villain, though, because of motive.  Imhotep is intelligent, powerful, romantic, and he does everything because of his love for that bitch (umm ... Anak-sun-a-mun) and she just leaves him to die.  I hate the ending of The Mummy Returns.

Nostalgia

These are the folks I had crushes on 'back in the day.'  I felt the need to include them, even if just for nostalgia's sake.

Antonio Salieri
as portrayed by F. Murray Abraham in Amadeus

Salieri is the rival composer to Mozart in the film Amadeus.

I could probably still get into Salieri today.  All I'd have to do is watch Amadeus again.  Sure, he's not a completely realistic portrayal of the actual composer, but his character is deliciously manipulative, ambitious, and vengeful, while also being restrained, cultured and somber.  I really should watch Amadeus again ...

Mr. Rourke
as portrayed by Ricardo Montalbon in Fantasy Island

Mr. Rourke was the mysterious host on Fantasy Island.

Nothing screams late 70's/early 80's like Fantasy Island.  Mr. Rourke was the first character I ever had a crush on.  Mr. Rourke was debonair, suave, dignified, classy and charismatic.  You can see some of the later themes of my 'type' in him as a mysterious character, as someone you weren't exactly sure of.

Dale Cooper
as portrayed by Kyle MacLachlan in Twin Peaks

Dale Cooper was the FBI agent sent to investigate the murders in the town of Twin Peaks.

Coop had a taste for the supernatural and a quirky, off-beat personality that I found quite sexy at the time Twin Peaks was on.  It doesn't hurt that Kyle MacLachlan is hot to begin with.  I was such a big fan at the time that I had the book and that tape.

Indiana Jones
as portrayed by Harrison Ford in several films

Indiana Jones is the prototype for the adventurer-archaeologist.

I loved Indy.  He inspired me to study archaeology.  I always wanted to be Indiana Jones when I grew up, at least until I discovered Lara Croft.  Indy's still pretty hot, with the fedora, and the bullwhip, and all, but he just doesn't cut it any more for the rest of the harem.  He's just not dark enough.

Atreyu
as portrayed by Noah Hathaway in The Neverending Story

Atreyu is the plains warrior whose quest Bastian follows in The Neverending Story

The film came out in 1984, so I might be forgiven for having a crush on Atreyu at the time.  He doesn't go with any of the other members of my harem, and watching the film again at this point doesn't clue me in, but I remember thinking he was darn cute at the time.
