Literary Harem
These are the characters from anime, cartoons, comic books and video games that I find attractive in one way or another. I found that I have a certain 'type' after I put all this together, but you can figure out what the heck this all says about me. These lovely folks are basically in order. There are two other parts to this harem - live action characters and animated characters, which you can visit if you want.
This part of my site is inspired by the wonderful site of Animated Lust (rated PG!). You ought to go visit.
The Harem
Elric of Melnibone
created by Michael Moorcock, from his Elric stories
Elric is the doomed hero of Michael Moorcock's stories, the albino emperor,
sorcerer, and kin-slayer of dying Melnibone.
I love anti-heroes. Elric is brooding, introspective, haunted, treacherous and
doomed to a dark fate. He's also an intelligent, complex character. Nothing like
angst for sex appeal, and Elric has it in spades. The pic is from the cover of
Elric at the End of Time.
Rennard
created by Richard A. Knaak, from The Legend of Huma
Rennard is a Knight of Solomnia who fights in the Dragon War with Huma, and a
man hiding a dark secret.
I find Rennard fascinating. He's a complex, layered character, someone whose
motives and true nature are hard to discern. He's also someone whose alignment
you wonder about on occasion. That mystery is very attractive. The pic is from
the short-lived comic.
Lord Soth
created by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, from Dragonlance
Lord Soth is the death knight of the Dragonlance series and later
Ravenloft. Once a noble knight, he fell and was cursed with undeath
Again, I love strong, dark, passionate characters. Soth is an almost
overwhelming personality, a man driven to extremes by his passionate nature.
There's just something very sexy about darkness.
Louis de Pointe du Lac
created by Anne Rice, from her Vampire Chronicles series
Louis is the melancholy vampire of The Vampire Chronicles, the most human
of the vampires that inhabit Rice's world.
Louis is a dark, romantic character. Not so much the anti-hero as his fellow
vampire Lestat, he is ever the gentleman, ever the romantic, and oh so sexy in
his tortured angst for his lost humanity. The pic is from the film Interview
with the Vampire.
Lestat de Lioncourt
created by Anne Rice, from her Vampire Chronicles series
Lestat is the protagonist of most of The Vampire Chronicles, Rice's
vampire Brat Prince.
Lestat is another anti-hero, a vampire with no compunction about killing, filled
with passion and romance, filling his life with beauty and death. Lestat is one
of the most powerful vampires; power is always an aphrodisiac. The pic is from
the film Interview with the Vampire.
Nostalgia
These are the folks I had crushes on 'back in the day.' I felt the need to include them, even if just for nostalgia's sake.
F'nor
created by Anne McCaffrey, from her Pern series
F'nor is the rider of the brown dragon Canth, the half-brother of Benden
weyrleader F'lar in McCaffrey's long-running Pern series.
I had such a crush on F'nor when I was in second grade. I even played F'nor in a
Brownie production that year. I don't usually go for heroic types, so I'm not
sure about him now; it's hard to recapture that moment. The pic is from an old
cover of Dragonquest.
